Kintsugi Workshop

18 May 2026
West Ryde, Sydney

“We are taught to hide our cracks. Kintsugi teaches us to honour them.”

Inspired by the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, this workshop invited participants to see imperfection as something worth celebrating. Guided by Sahar Mokhtari, each guest transformed a ceramic piece with gold detailing, paint and delicate embellishment, turning every crack and seam into part of its story.

Set around a beautifully styled table with fresh roses, butterfly teacups and a personal art kit at every place, the afternoon was a gentle reminder that healing is not about becoming perfect. It is about becoming whole again.
